1924 Bentley Hawkeye Special

Unbeknownst to many, Bentley was a legitimate race car manufacturer before it became a company making luxury cars for douchey rich people. The 1924 Bentley Hawkeye Special is a wonderful example Bentley’s motorsports heritage with it’s racing cockpit, open wheel design and gigantic 8 liter engine, showcasing what car racing  was like pre-war 1920′s. The Silodrome has done an excellent expose on this peice of racing history, which will be going up at auction this August in Monterey.
